I wrote some songs.

Hey Everyone.

I like to post my musics on MySpace when I get a chance. Check the songs out!

Same old scenario - No explosions here.

I figure I should update you all on that since it's been a while. Not that I expect you all to read this or even really act all that interested.. but blogging is fun! Even when it's about my mundane life.

School is going good. I'm currently in my second semester at VIU, in the FIne Arts program. I'm enjoying it.. but it is getting a bit redundant. Coming up on the 11th of March, we're supposed to re-submit our portfolio to get approval to continue with the program we're in. I don't think I'm going to do it. It's not that I'm not interested in pursuing a career in fine arts, I just feel like there are some far more interesting courses that could probably help me out a bit more than the ones I'm currently taking.

One thing I've always been interested in is Special Effects Make-up ala Tom Savini (He worked on a ton of horror movies.. including Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead, two of my favourite movies.) He actually has a program at a school in Pennsylvania for this. It looks pretty amazing. I recommend looking it up sometime. They have a promotional video on the program website that shows all the different things they do.

I wonder if there are any good courses like that in my area. It does sound like fun, though!

In other news - my band played the second biggest venue in Nanaimo the other night. We played the Queens. This is a big step for us.. considering our first show was in an empty gymnasium.. where the audience was just members of the other bands playing the show. (I should say.. The Queens is a fairly small venue. It's just hard to book because they usually favour crowd pleasing cover bands. Something we're definitely not.)

Everything went really well and we got a lot of nice compliments after the show. We're actively looking for shows now. We all feel re-energized. We're going to start jamming on a weekly basis (our last practice aside from our show last Wednesday was in September.. at our first show!) We're writing a lot of music and hope to record late this month of early next month.. so I'll update you on that, as well!

So.. That's pretty much it. I'll update you with more soon -

PS. It's snowing a LOT in Nanaimo right now.
